Case Study: JPS30FS & JPS60FS Jumbo Partition Systems

At Unit 36, Acton Industrial Park in West London, our team delivered a comprehensive internal partitioning package using a combination of the JPS30FS and JPS60FS Jumbo Partition Systems. The project formed part of a refurbishment and fit-out programme creating new office areas, meeting rooms, workshops and specialist laboratory spaces within the industrial building.
The solution required a mixture of fire-rated partitions to meet the varying fire compartmentation requirements across the building, while maintaining a consistent architectural finish.
Project Overview
Working alongside the main contractor, our team installed a series of jumbo stud partitions extending from floor level to the underside of the soffit to create multiple internal spaces throughout the unit. The layout included workshop areas, mechanical plant rooms, meeting rooms and office accommodation, each requiring different fire ratings depending on their use.
To achieve this, a combination of JPS30FS and JPS60FS systems was utilised, allowing the project team to provide the appropriate fire resistance performance for each area while maintaining structural robustness and efficient installation.

Installation Approach
The internal layout required multiple wall types to achieve the fire strategy for the building. The JPS60FS system was used where higher levels of fire protection were required, such as laboratory and plant areas, while the JPS30FS system provided fire separation for corridors, offices and supporting spaces.
Key elements of the installation included:
- Jumbo steel stud partitions extending from floor to soffit
- Structural framing designed to support tall wall heights within the warehouse structure
- Fire-rated ceiling deck systems to maintain compartmentation above partition lines
- Smooth finished partition surfaces ready for decoration by others
- Integration with workshop and mechanical plant room layouts
The flexible nature of the JPS system allowed multiple fire ratings to be incorporated within a single project while maintaining a consistent appearance throughout the building.
Project Outcome
The completed installation successfully transformed the industrial unit into a fully compartmentalised operational facility, providing safe fire separation between workshop, office and laboratory spaces.
