Brighton Trade Park – Retail Unit Separation

At Brighton Trade Park on Crowhurst Road, our team delivered a high-performance internal fire partition to separate two adjoining industrial retail units. The project required a large-scale one-hour fire-rated wall capable of spanning the internal warehouse space while maintaining strong acoustic performance and structural stability.

The installation formed the dividing wall between Units 2A and 2B, creating two independent operational spaces within the existing trade park building.

Project Overview

The project required the design and installation of a full-height jumbo stud partition wall extending from existing blockwork up to the underside of the roof structure. The wall was constructed using a robust steel stud system designed to provide 60 minutes fire resistance and high acoustic separation, ensuring compliance with fire safety regulations and landlord requirements.

The finished partition provided a durable internal boundary suitable for industrial and warehouse environments while maintaining a clean architectural appearance.

Installation Approach

The system was engineered to provide high structural performance within the large-span warehouse environment.

Key construction elements included:

  • 150mm steel section studs installed at 600mm centres
  • 75mm mineral wool slab insulation within the cavity
  • 12.5mm robust performance boards to both sides of the wall
  • Deep head channel deflection detail allowing structural movement beneath the roof structure
  • Specialist column and portal frame encasements to maintain fire protection around structural steelwork.

Powered access equipment was used to safely construct the partition at height while maintaining efficient installation across the warehouse floor.
