Project Overview

JPS Jumbo Partition Systems was appointed to design and install a high-performance fire-rated partition within a large distribution warehouse in Daventry.

The requirement was to construct a two-sided enclosure in the corner of the warehouse, measuring:

  • 78.2 metres long
  • 18 metres high
  • Built full height to the underside of the roof
  • Including a formed opening to accommodate a 3.1m x 3.5m roller shutter door

The client required a robust 30-minute fire-rated system with enhanced acoustic performance, capable of achieving significant height while maintaining structural integrity and compliance with current fire regulations.

The Solution

JPS Jumbo Partition Systems specified and installed the F30S Robust “F” Series Partition System, delivering:

  • 30-minute fire resistance
  • 43dB acoustic rating
  • Engineered performance at 18,000mm height
  • Built directly from slab to roof structure
  • Heavy-duty industrial specification suitable for warehouse environments

The system incorporated:

  • 300mm steel section SFS studs
  • 2.0mm gauge steel with 50mm flange
  • Installed at 600mm centres
  • Deep head channels (2.0mm gauge, 250mm flange)
  • Standard base channel (1.2mm gauge)
  • 75mm mineral wool slab insulation (45kg/m³ density)
  • 12.5mm JPS robust performance boards to both sides

Overall system depth: 328mm
 Overall system mass: 65kg/m²

The partition was formed with a structural opening to allow for the installation of a roller shutter door by others.

Compliance & Certification

The F30S system is manufactured using high-performance boards approved under European Technical Assessment standards and classified as Euroclass A2, providing limited combustibility and compliance with current fire regulations.

Upon completion, the client received:

  • Commissioning Certificate
  • Fire Certification Documentation

Ensuring full traceability and regulatory compliance.

Installation Programme

The 18-metre-high installation required careful planning, powered access equipment, and coordinated logistics.

  • Integration with future roller shutter installation

The works were completed in approximately 4 weeks, carried out in one continuous visit to ensure efficiency and minimise disruption to site operations.
