JPS Jumbo Partition Systems were selected to deliver internal partitioning works at the Dyson Limited facility in Malmesbury, Wiltshire. The project involved the construction of fire-rated acoustic partitions to create a series of meeting rooms within the building while maintaining strong acoustic separation and fire safety compliance.
Working alongside the main contractor, the installation formed part of a wider internal fit-out programme, providing new functional spaces within Dyson’s research and development environment.

Scope of Works
The project required the installation of several internal partitions to form enclosed meeting rooms on the first floor of the building.
The partitions were constructed using a robust stud framework with acoustic insulation installed between the framing members to enhance sound separation between meeting rooms.
System Performance
The JPS Jumbo Partition System provided a reliable and high-performance solution for internal office environments requiring both fire protection and acoustic privacy.
Key system characteristics:
- Fire Resistance: 60 minutes
- Partition Thickness: Approximately 300mm overall
- Acoustic Insulation: 25mm Isover APR acoustic roll within framing
- Stud System: Gypframe steel studs with cross bracing
- Boarding: High-performance fire-rated boards both sides
- Perimeter Sealing: 4-hour fire and acoustic rated sealant
This configuration ensures the meeting rooms benefit from excellent sound separation while maintaining compliance with fire safety regulations.
Design Integration
The architectural drawings illustrate how the partitions were incorporated into the first-floor layout to form a sequence of meeting rooms within the building footprint. The proposed floor plan and reflected ceiling plan show the meeting rooms arranged along the internal corridor, with door access to each room.
Structural drawings also demonstrate how the partitions were coordinated with the building’s steel framework and floor structure to ensure stability and correct load transfer within the facility.
